Forthcoming meetings

Ordinary Meetings are held in the Conference Suite at the Manchester Cathedral Visitor Centre, 10 Cateaton Street, Manchester M3 1SQ unless otherwise stated. The chair will be taken at 5:45pm; refreshments are available from 5:20pm.

At each meeting a paper, which can be on a variety of economic, social, industrial or statistical subjects is read, and then debated by members and their guests. Papers are subsequently printed and distributed to members, subscribing learned societies and libraries. Copies may also be purchased by non-members.

Visitors
Members are encouraged to bring guests to any meeting of the Society. Unaccompanied Visitors are asked to contact the Secretary.

Statistical Dinner Club
This is a private dining club which meets after each Ordinary Meeting of the Society and after the Annual General Meeting, when the Society entertains the speaker to dinner. After the meal one of the members proposes the speaker’s health. He or she is then given the opportunity to reply after which the discussion continues in an informal way until no later than 10.00pm.

All members of the Society, guests and visitors are welcome to join the club, membership for the evening being included in the charge for dinner. It is essential to book in advance via the Secretary, enclosing payment for the meal.
